OUR STORY
How Treble Puns Started
We met on Instagram in 2018 through a musicians' page, looking for exactly what the other one had. Abhimanyu had guitars and loopers and nowhere to put the rhythm. Sohini had drums and percussion and nowhere to put the melody. We jammed once. It went long. We haven't really stopped since.A little while later we did the practical thing and got married, mostly so we could keep making music together without having to schedule it.
What we sound like
We think in prog rock logic, rhythms broken into odd patterns and stitched back together, guitar lines that lean on Indian classical and blues as much as on Tool or Porcupine Tree. We loop, we layer, we let a track breathe until it doesn't need us anymore. Daft Punk, Porcupine Tree, Indian Ocean, Led Zeppelin, Khruangbin, Gorillaz, God Is An Astronaut, Polyphia, Pink Floyd all of it is in there somewhere, run through two people and a lot of pedals.We have always believed the joke and the craft can live in the same bar of music. Life hands you a lot of things that take themselves very seriously. We have found it is usually more honest to notice that, and say so, quietly, in a way not everyone catches the first time.We are self funded and self managed, start to finish. And every release exists because two people insisted on making it.

Our newest record, out since 29 May 2026. Nine tracks, built as skits and songs that only work end to end, in order. It is the first time we have written this many words, or built a character to say them for us.A conversation sets up a question, a song answers it. Between the two we get around to happiness, purpose, modern dishonesty and the specific exhaustion of being alive right now.We built a character to carry it, Frank, the Junior God of Honesty. He was handed the Truth Department, took a nap, and the nap lasted five thousand years. In his defence, the mattress was excellent.
Who is Frank?
In the beginning, Frank was handed the Truth Department. Steady job. Simple brief. People are honest creatures, he thought. How hard could it be?Then he found some god-grade pharmaceuticals, took a nap, and checked out. The nap lasted 5,000 years. In his defence, the mattress was excellent.
"I woke up to a backlog. Marketing. Law. Finance. Something called LinkedIn. The council was furious. Shape up, they said. Or shut down the department."
So here he is. On Earth. Making amends. Every god has songs. He had nothing. He heard about something called virality. He hired a band. They were cheap. That felt honest.
